Love is the Answer

by Gwendolyn Ward
(St. Louis, Missouri)

I can do all things through Christ

I can do all things through Christ

Love Is The Answer

My Name is Gwen Ward I have been retired from the work place for two years due to health concerns, so when the thought of having my own Internet business evolved I was very excited. This meant I could help my family. My husband could retire after spending many years in the work force. I could assist my daughter with the financial support she needed to fulfill her dream of becoming a register nurse, I could buy my grandson of thirteen that laptop computer that he so desperately wants when he enters high school in the Fall and the list goes on.

I had heard about this company on the Internet where you could buy and sell items at an affordable price so, I tried it, I posted a few things and actually sold one, that felt pretty good. A month or so later I got a letter by mail stating that this company would be in my area and would like me to attend their seminar, which I did. While at the seminar I learned of another company that would later introduce me to my online internet business. I was overjoyed.

They told me about the money I could make, how they would accommodate me with the tools I needed to build a website. They even showed case history of people who had succeeded. All good, but what they did not tell me, was that I could not do this on my own, and that I would need to pay marketing companies thousands of dollars to market my site so that I could begin to get traffic.

They did not tell me that I would need an accountant, and bookkeeper if I were not fluent in keeping my own books, which would be an added expense. They did not tell me about all the complicated tax information that I needed to know. They did not tell me enough.

I wish that I would have inquired and assessed the situation more thoroughly. Things are not always as they seem. I wish that I would have prioritized my actions, taken the time to think about, and pray about what I was about to do before I did it, and not be talked or rush into something, even though I wanted it very much.

So, what I have decided to do, with the help of God, is take the whole experience, add prayer, hard work, determination and passion, cover it with love and go for it. Because when all else fails, Love is the answer.
