What are the things they never told you about starting a business from home?

Displine. You have to have amazing discipline. Your kids, the housework, food preparation, the neighbourhood, snacks and many other things will want your attention. You have to treat being at your desk in your home, like you can't leave - until you get your tasks accomplished for the day. Then - do whatever you like - because we didn't buy into a job, we are creating a life-altering lifestyle that allows you to get paid.

Perspective. No matter what you think or others perceive about what you are doing. Dabbling, playing with your hobby - you have to create an environment and a mindset that says you are building and creating a business. Otherwise, turning your passion into money becomes a full time slog through cement with bulky boots.


What do you wish you knew BEFORE you got started?

That will, determination, and confidence are all you need to get started. Only people too afraid to follow their dreams and make it happen, will discourage you from working from home, and building the ultimate lifestyle for you and your family.


What experience do you NEVER want to repeat again?

I never want to experience partnering with a fiancee in a business venture, then having him leave me 2 weeks before the wedding for another woman (volumes I could write on this). Then having to continue to operate that company, by his side, because I had built it and it had assets, while his now wife churned out children.


Tell us what it's REALLY like to own a home based business!!

I can't imagine living my life any other way. I wish for everyone on earth that wants to work from home... that they simply decide to do it, and then just do it.

I have been there for every moment of my kids. I earn as much as I would in a corporate and very demanding job. I travel to speaking engagements and take my family with me. I set my own hours, and yet keep in my discipline to satisfy clients and build my business. It is a life that dreams are made from, and being your own boss, from the comfort of your home, is everything you think it will be.
